Sony DADC US Re-Certifies in IRMA’s Anti-Piracy Compliance Program
20 July 2007 – Terre Haute, IN - Sony DADC US, Terre Haute, Indiana, has re-certified in the internationally approved Anti-Piracy Compliance Program of the IRMA, the Content Delivery and Storage Association. With this re-certification, Sony DADC US continues the unbroken series of successful anti-piracy compliant certifications along with the nine other company locations in the worldwide anti-piracy program that represents 85% of the world’s disc manufacturing capability.
The IRMA Anti-Piracy Compliance Program (APCP) is well established in North and South America, Europe, South Africa and Asia with more than 100 media manufacturing plants participating in this program that is endorsed by the world’s leading content owners and their associations.
Ms. Shelley Klingerman, Marketing Manager, Sony DADC US, said, “The continuation of our anti-piracy compliance at Terre Haute and at the other Sony facilities around the world underscores our company’s robust dedication to preventing theft of intellectual property. We and our customers hold the IRMA certification in the highest esteem and are proud to be part of the industry’s premier group of optical media manufacturers fighting piracy.”
Timothy J. Gorman, Director – Worldwide Anti-Piracy Compliance Program, said, “With the completion of every certification and re-certification process we are reminded of the enormous task facing the content delivery industry as products move from development to the marketplace. Maintaining a secure and legitimate delivery environment is the common goal of copyright owners, media manufacturers and other participants along the supply chain. The re-certification of the Sony DADC US’s facility reflects the positive and voluntary synergism that has marked our anti-piracy program from the start.”
The IRMA program contains the industry’s first set of international anti-piracy standards for replicators and is a major step in assisting record labels, movie studios, computer software and game publishers to identify replicators that have implemented this program to prevent the replication of unauthorized content..
