MPO, Averton, France Completes IRMA's Anti-Piracy Compliance Program

29 June 2007 - Spaarndam, The Netherlands -MPO, Averton, France, has been certified under the internationally approved Anti-Piracy Compliance Program of IRMA, the Content Delivery and Storage Association.

The IRMA Anti-Piracy Compliance Program (APCP) is well established in Europe, North and South America, South Africa and Asia.

“As a privileged partner of producers and rights owners MPO has always been at the forefront of the anti-piracy campaign. We are delighted that our French plant is now fully participating in the IMRA program. The protection of intellectual property right is key issue for everyone at MPO. ” said Alban Pingeot, MD of MPO France.

Theo G. Köhler, EMEA Director of the Anti-Piracy Compliance Program, added:

“I am pleased to see that MPO joins the continuously growing number of certified plants in the Anti-Piracy Compliance Program. They are well known in our business for over 50 years and have become the largest manufacturer for optical media in France. It recognized again Irma’s APCP as the industry’s only certification program that helps manufacturers of pre-recorded media reduce the risk of publishing pirated material, thereby protecting the intellectual property rights of their customers on all audio, video and data carriers.”

Köhler confirmed that the industry’s first set of international anti-piracy standards for replicators is a major step in assisting record labels, movie studios, computer software and game content owners to identify replicators that have implemented a program to prevent the inadvertent replication of unauthorized pre-recorded media.

Including the recently certified MPO facility, over 100 facilities have earned and/or maintain Anti-Piracy Compliancy worldwide. For a complete list of IRMA’s official participating plants visit  http://www.recordingmedia.org/antipiracy/antipiracy-status.cfm
