2008 Display Advertising Specifications

  • Mediaware and CDSA Membership Directory accept only digital ads, which must be in Adobe’s PDF format.
  • All color rates include 4-color PROCESS printing. Additional charge for PMS or additional colors. Please call advertising director for rates.
  • Display advertising should reflect the image of the advertisers and spotlight their products and services. Ads containing specific pricing will not be accepted.

Ad Specifications

  • Trim Size: 8.5 x 10.875 inches
  • Please keep all live matter at least .25 inch from trim edge and allow .125 inch on all sides for bleeds.
  • Live area for 1/2 horizontal is 7 inches wide by 4.875 inches high. Live area for 1/2 vertical is 3.375 inches wide by 10 inches high.

Guidelines for Press-Optimized PDF Submissions

1. In your page layout program:

  • All color, scanned images should be converted into a CMYK color space.
  • All scans, color or b&w halftones should be 300 dpi at the size it is scaled to in your page layout. Avoid excessive enlargements, TIFF files are preferred. If EPS files are necessary, please ensure color management is not applied.
  • Line art (such as logos) should be scanned at 1200 dpi.
  • Colors defined as PMS will be converted to the closest CMYK equivalent unless otherwise instructed (additional fee applies for PMS color printing).
  • Remove unused colors (leaving only CMYK).
  • Please ensure all fonts and placed graphics used in job are available to Distiller.

2. When creating PDF:

  • Use “Press Optimized” settings (assistance in creating press-ready pdfs can be found at www.pass4press.com).
  • Ensure bleed settings are set to at least .125 inch.
